Getting around

Alte Bock is easily accessible by car, but certainly also by public transport. If you come by train, transfer to the bus in St Niklaus. In fact, most of the time it is already waiting for you! Within 11 minutes you are right next to the Alte Bock. On weekends, there is even a direct bus connection to Visp, which takes just over half an hour. After which you can take the train to Milan, Bern or Basel to travel to Germany.

Neighbourhood

Alte Bock is located 600 meters outside the center of Grächen – peaceful, yet close to everything you need. Park your car with ease and enjoy the view from the balcony, which never gets boring.

The bus stops right outside the door, so you can reach Zermatt, Saas-Fee, or Brigerbad for a day trip in no time – if you ever want to explore elsewhere.

In Grächen itself, the mountain railway is so close you could walk there, only 600 meters!. In summer, you can easily hike the Suonen, and yes, the Hannigalp is just a short distance away. And if the weather doesn't cooperate (which is rare with almost 300 sunny days a year), the Sportzentrum is the perfect spot for kids to burn off some energy. Oh, and don’t forget our own glacier! For true adventurers, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the icy air and breathtaking views.

The altitude of 1620 meters ensures we’re snow-sure in winter – always guaranteed good snow. In summer, you’ll enjoy warm days and cool nights, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway or an active vacation. In short: you’ll never get bored here!
